With the economy situation still struggling and big pharmaceutical companies reshaping their strategies, SAPA-GP organized a day-long Drug Development in Biologics Conference on March 6, 2010, in Fort Washington, a suburban town outside Philadelphia. Over 200 people attended this timely conference (agenda report). SAPA-GP & BPBC Job Fair on January 24, 2010. Drug safety is one of the leading factors contributing to the low success rate for drug development. In order to address many issues in drug safety and provide an opportunity for members to better understand key aspects of this field, SAPA-GP organized a non-clinical drug safety evaluation workshop on December 12, 2009. The attendees include over 100 professionals with various backgrounds, such as chemistry, biology, law, business development, as well as others of diverse backgrounds (agenda report).SAPA-GP and Frontage Laboratories, Inc. co-sponsored a workshop in Zhengzhou China on September 20 - 21, 2009. The goal of the workshop is to provide educational information about latest U.S. FDA regulatory policies for generic and new drugs approval in order to help Chinese Pharmaceutical companies launch their products in the international market. Workshop is given by current and previous FDA officials and experienced cross-border industrial practitioners and specialists. (program) SAPA-GP and Guang Hua Chinese School 2009 joint picnic on August 29, 2009, attracted many participants. We had fine food, funny games, valuable networking, etc., and shared joys and sorrows in the current professions. SAPA-GP & Monte Jade Joint Annual Conference On May 15-16, 2009, leaders from across biotech and pharma gathered for an educational and inspiring two-day conference. The conference explored the big challenges facing our business, emerging markets, the effects of mergers and acquisitions on pharma and the innovative tactics that companies are using to thrive in these turbulent economic times.
