1. Position Title:
Pharmacokinetics Leader / Exploratory Development (Requisition # 25699BR)

Job Description

Scientific and operational leadership for a portfolio of projects to ensure high quality, innovative and effective support to clinical development projects in China

Provide project leadership for projects in region in regards to human Ph I strategy/trials, and supervise direct reports responsible for project leadership

Ensure high quality contribution to development strategies together with the local Chinese team and PK PTRs of the global IPTs

Provide/Ensure high quality, timely, efficient, and high standard scientific inputs to trial protocols/data analysis/reports, and regulatory submissions in China

Represent the pharmacokinetics discipline and ensure high quality interactions with the Chinese health authority, external investigators, and various internal Novartis TAs

Establish and maintain sound working relationships with partners and customers

Initiate and support continuous improvement initiatives in global pharmacokinetics and partner functions

Recruit, coach and develop talents in pharmacokinetics discipline in China
Serve as a member on the global PK/PD leadership team

Provide input to the global PK/PD budget, and manage resources in China PK group

Qualifications

Minimum of a Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, or related disciplines (or equivalent degree/knowledge/expertise). Seven to ten years of experience in pharmacokinetics or biopharmaceutics. Experience in international regulatory affairs including Chinese regulatory affairs, global drug development, project management required. Excellent verbal and written English and Chinese communication skills. Administrative management and team leadership experience desired.

Postion Title: Pharmacokinetics Expert / Exploratory Development (Requisition # 29761BR)

Job Description

Pharmacokinetics expert for development projects to ensure high quality, innovative and effective support to clinical development and registration in China.
Provide project leadership for projects in region in regards to human Ph I strategy/trials

Ensure high quality contribution to development strategies together with the local Chinese team and PK PTRs of the global IPTs

Provide/Ensure high quality, timely, efficient, and high standard scientific inputs to trial protocols/data analysis/reports, and regulatory submissions in China

Represent the pharmacokinetics discipline and ensure high quality interactions with the Chinese health authority, external investigators, and various internal Novartis TAs

Establish and maintain sound working relationships with partners and customers

Contribute to and support continuous improvement initiatives in global pharmacokinetics and partner functions

Coach peers in pharmacokinetics discipline in China


Qualifications

Minimum of a Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, or related disciplines (or equivalent degree/knowledge/expertise). At least five years of experience in pharmacokinetics or biopharmaceutics. Experience in international regulatory affairs including Chinese regulatory affairs, global drug development, project management required. Excellent verbal and written English and Chinese communication skills. Team leadership experience desired.



3. Position Title
: DMBA section head / Exploratory Development (Requisition #  26760BR)

Job Description:

       The DMBA (drug metabolism & bioanalytics) section head will work closely with the ED (exploratory development) China management to prepare for the inclusion of DMBA operations in the ED Center in Shanghai, China. This will include:

       -plan and design the DMBA laboratory facilities

       -purchase equipment

       -recruit, interview, and hire local DMBA staff

       -coordinate training activities

       -provide input to local DMBA budget planning

       -provide DMBA interactions with ED and other Novartis China groups

-manage DMBA support to studies done in China, interact with CROs as needed


Qualifications:

       Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacokinetics, or equivalent; 7-10 years relevant experience; thorough knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a GLP bioanalytics (LC/MS/MS) lab; experience of working on project teams; knowledge of regulatory requirements (global and China specific) and experience in interacting with regulatory authorities; good recruiting/interviewing skills; good negotiation skills; good communication skills and fluency in English; fluency in spoken Chinese (Putonghua) preferred.
